Research And Planning: Makeup tests

These are test of how what makeup I would like my model to wear. The first image has a black line of eye liner with silver eye shadow. The second image to my right is just liquid eyeliner and mascara which is my favorite and looks more natural. The third image is a golden brown eye shadow and is less noticeable than the silver. The fourth image is of lips and what shade of lipstick looks best, the image to the right is called 'ice pink' I think this colour is suttle and looks nice, on the other hand the next image is a brighter pink and looks too bright to feature on my model.

Research And Planning: Double Page Spread Story.

Interview with...
GABY MURPHY
The UK's Youngest Superstar has taken the world by a storm as she celebrates 3 number 1 singles at only 17! Rising star Gaby Murphy Has ran up the charts staying at the top with her latest single 'Chasing Hearts' a heart-warming song with a sense of truth and reality. On Her Recent 17th birthday she danced the night away with stars such as Taylor swift, Ed Sheeran, Tinie Tempah And Best of all Rihanna, quite a guest list don't you think. This month she talks to 'Live' about her rise to fame, her biggest inspiration and how supportive her family are, as we take a peak into the life of a real UK pop sensation.
What did you dream of doing when you were younger?
"Well, actually I wanted to be a princess when I was three. But what girl didn’t? But as I grew older and discovered music I was mesmerized with the different sounds which could be made, and the effect music has on people. When I was 9 my mum bought me a acoustic guitar, and my ambition grew from there. By the age of 11 I was fluent in the art of acoustic, and I extended my talent to different guitars, but my true love was acoustic. My dreams were from then to be a well respected musician which I have now achieved".
How do you’re parents feel about having a famous daughter?
"Iv always had the support from my family, and they followed my dreams and did as much as they could in my years of 'getting out there'. My dad was my taxi for the years up until I was spotted and got signed. Every week he drove me to town while I stood outside shops attempting to grab the attentions of my audience. They have helped me with everything asked of them and more, I couldn’t get a better family than my bunch, I take on the constant advise of my mum as she always says "Be true to yourself and don't let fame go to you’re head".
Do you still enjoy singing, is it the same as when you begun or has the celeb factor changed things?
"Yes I still enjoy singing, music is my passion and if I ever get to over-whelmed with the fame and popularity I can just pick up my guitar and get back to my roots. At the end of it all I started this because of my love for music, which is why I’m grateful for the management because they understand and appreciate my views".
Who inspired you to be a successful artist?
"Well I really enjoyed the music that my dad liked. My favorite band was 'Oasis' I love there style and individually, I feel that my style of music has a hint of there’s. I used sing my all time favorite song 'Wonder wall' in my bedroom as I knew all of the words, the song and band which first started inspiring me to forward down the musical path. Other favorites were 'The Beetles' and 'Bob Dylan', again there style amazed me, all of these bands are quite 'Indie', although I changed my genre to be more 'pop', as I could be more fun and experimental with it, and it appealed more to more age group".
Do you feel the pressure of being in the public media, how do you deal with that pressure?
"I do feel the pressure; the press are always on the look out for mistakes, cause as you no mistakes are what people is interested inn. Being the age I am now I would love to go shopping with my friends and go out partying, but being constantly in the media I cant do that. I know how lucky I am and appreciative of were I am in life but I would love to let my hair down for a week, and be able to act like a normal 17 year old. Doing Gigs and being on TV are my real fear, I feel as though I have to impress and look confident but I have always had a problem with my confidence, but I deal with it by getting on with it. There’s no point dwelling on a problem, you may as well face it head on, and to help me do this I have my close friends who I am able to be myself with, they don’t see me as a famous pop star, they see me as the girl who have been there best friends for the last 10 years".
Were do the ideas for your songs come from?
"Personal experiences, I take a situation and make music from it, so in my life a bad situation has evidential good thing to come from it, a emotional song. My recent number one 'Let it Out' came about after a break-up with an ex, I let my feelings out, and it was something to focus on and an expression of feeling which helped me get over the heartbreak, so as I said a bad situation has something good to come from it in this case it was a single in the charts at number 1 for 3 weeks".
What is you’re greatest achievement?
"Getting my first Brit award! I have never been so nervous in my life, but at the same time I have never been so happy! I went to the event knowing that I had been nominated for 'Best New Comer'. But being against Ed Sheeran I knew that victory would be a long shot, after all he is an amazing artist. But to my surprise I won the award, I was shaking like mad when walking to collect it, I hadn’t even prepared a speech so I decided to just go with the flow and be spontaneous! I felt bad that Ed Sheeran didn’t collect the award, but of course he picked up many others. That night was a night I would never forget and count is as my greatest achievement".
Would you ever consider joining a band?
"Noway. I love bands and there music but I am a one-man band. If I had to share my passion it wouldn’t feel the same, I am protective when it comes to music and feel that it is so precious to share. I’m not in this business for the fame or fortune; I’m in it because I enjoy strumming my guitar and signing. Plus there’s too much competition when in a band, well look how 'STEPS' ended up!"
What’s the craziest thing a fan has done for/towards you?
"Erm. Last year I was at the soap awards, the first one I had ever been to so I didn't no what to expect. I walked down the carpet to enter the building when the weirdest thing happened. A fan, he was about 16, an average looking boy. He ran thought the crowd behind the rails, jumped over the railings and knelt down in front of me, he grabbed my hand and while kissing me he said "I’m You’re Biggest Fan, Marry Me Gaby". I froze and didn’t answer him. Within seconds he was dragged away by the guards. I appreciated his courage, and I saw his devotion!"
Do you have any guilty pleasures?
"Yes Disney Films! I can’t get enough of them, from being a child I have loved them and I still do till this day! My favorite is 'The Lion King' I cry whenever I watch the scene of Mufasa's death, its so sad considering its a kids film! Another guilty pleasure would be my obsession of collecting Blue Nose Teddies. I have a overflowing shelf full of 34 blue nose characters, and embarrassingly I record each character I get, and store them softly in a plastic wallet were my cat cant jump on it."
I heard that you have had the same guitar from the age of nine, will you continue using that guitar
"Only if it breaks, which I doubt because IV only had it 8 years! Yes I refuse to get rid and buy a new one. In every interview I do they ask why with all the money I have earned, why I don’t buy a new one. My guitar may look old and have chips and scratches and stickers on it, there’s even writing on it, but it the home of were I discovered my talent, it has helped me come as far as I have so I couldn’t just get rid! My manager hates me showing the world my tacky looking instrument, but they cant tell me not to use it in my gigs, otherwise as they well no I won't do the show without my trusty guitar."
What do you think you will be doing in 10 years time?
"Well I hope still writing music and performing. You never any I could be a all time music legend and be along side john Lennon and Michael Jackson on the wall of fame. But seriously I would like to do as I am doing now, making the most of life and enjoying every obstacle along the way. Maybe thought of a family in 10 years, to spread my music to the next generation. But I’m not optimistic so whatever imp doing, as long IV got my music I'm happy."
Thank you for spearing this time with us to give readers an in sight of the youngest UK artist’s life. I have enjoyed getting to no you as will the readers of 'LIVE' magazine. Good Luck for the future in your career and life.
