Evaluation- Question 7

This is a podcast to compare my music magazine and college magazine. I have mentioned in the video the use of Photoshop, the colour scheme, font sizes, and the overall layout. The genre of both magazines are aimed at females which is apparent with the pink colour scheme and the female model.

How did you attract/address your audience? on Prezi

This would be how my target audience would look like. She would have a love for pop music and an interest in Fashion. The age would be majority teenage and would be a relevant person for my target audience.

What kind of media institution might distribute your product and why?

Role of magazine distribution. The role of the magazine distributor is to get the magazine its target audience, and place the magazine in places which will attract that target audience. They decide where the magazine will be sold in a way for the product to be sold more, and be noticed more by the audience it is aimed at.

What your magazine is similar to 'institutionally'. Magazines which are similar to mine are Q, with the musical aspect, but also 'POP' as it is more girly and colorful, these use distribution company Bauer Media (http://www.bauermedia.co.uk/home). This magazine company is the distributor for a large range of magazines varying from genres such as: Woman's, Mens Lifestyle, Pets and golf, the variation of genres is the reason why this company distributes magazines like Closer, Kerrang, and heat. Magazines like these including Q are sold worldwide in highly accessible places like WHSmiths, and various supermarkets like Sainsburys, ASDA and Morrissons. The magazines are sold in such a large amount of places to attract a bigger audience and to make it more accessible to the target readers. 

How will I distribute my magazine. To do that I will do the same as how Bauer Media work making my magazine available in highly accessible shops like WHSmiths, Sainsburys and ASDA, when selling my magazine in these places it will attract a larger target audience and make it as well known as Q. I will use methods like creating apps were each fortnightly issue is available to by on a app for iphones, and android smart phones. The App will offer exclusive discounts and offers to buy the magazine online but slightly cheaper than in stores. The only catch for the app would be to get the offers and discounts they have to be a subscriber.
